Cal-Oregon (1849a) copy2

After traveling for about 105 miles, we checked into the Timberline Lodge.  This is one of those grand national park hotels built in the 1930's.  It is way high up on Mt. Hood and whose exteriors were used for the hotel in Stanley Kubrick's The Shining.   The rooms are small and very old. Unfortunately, they put TV's in the room which seems wrong for this type of hotel. The TV's plunge one back into 2006.    The hotel boasts skiing all year long.  The rooms were not cheap here---one room was $220 and the other was $195.
